It’s a fear that’s common to people thinking about taking their message to LIVE. A fear of vulnerability. Sure, LIVE has a ton of upside, lots of new connections to be made, and amazing growth potential for brands, but… what if you reveal too much?
Listen to the audio version:
The fear of being vulnerable on video is so universal – we have probably all felt it. But that vulnerability is important, even vital, to making that connection with your audience. It’s part of being authentic and being yourself. That vulnerability line, the one that comes with sharing innermost thoughts and feelings, is something that people recognize and respond to – it builds such a strong bond!
Beyond that bond is the way your sharing may touch and help other people. Your voice may be the one that someone out there needs to hear at the moment they most need it. It sounds crazy, but you could give someone a glimmer of hope that helps them through a really tough time.
So don’t let fears of being too vulnerable stop you from putting yourself out there. It will help you, and more importantly could really help others!
Have you had moments when vulnerability on video helped you or your audience? Care to share? I’d love to hear your stories in the comments!
